Quick update: I used the pillowy cinnamon rolls dough recipe on pizza rolls and it was perfect.
Originally I thought I would use this non-yeasted recipe for pizza rolls but since finding the pillowy cinnamon rolls recipe I thought I should try it with savory.
The dough is so soft and very easy to roll out.
I doubled the recipe and while my KitchenAid was warm after kneading for 10 minutes it didn’t seem to struggle. For sauce I used a combination of jarred pesto and jarred sun-dried tomato sauce and filled with pepperoni and cheese. The alternating green and red looked pretty for the Christmas party. They were delicious and gobbled up.
Side note: I have an inexpensive digital scale (it was less than $20) and am using it more and more. I love that it reduces the number of dirty dishes and makes the baking process faster. When recipe writers use weights I am so happy but have also made the conversions to simplify my time in the kitchen.
This morning I woke thinking about this bread. Next I will try the dough as dinner rolls.
I promise to write about things other than gluten in 2023.
Merry Christmas,
Julie
These were soooo good! I could have eaten the whole tray! What a treat! So glad I had the opportunity to be at the Christmas Party. Besides the food, it was an experience I’m glad I said yes to!
